I love If by Lindsay Anderson with all my being. A film that made my young teenage mind explode with a joy veering on holy ecstasy (cinema is church anyone?
@martinscorsese_ I got you babe) when the school tour shared that the library roof was the location for the extremely violent end scene it was decided - yep, I’m accepting the art scholarship and I’m going to go to this school. Lol. Fate plays a really interesting role in life. Thanks for sharing the film won the Palm D’Or at @festivaldecannes I didn’t know that. Lifted this photo from @keithmcnallynyc who I agree with on the subject of justice and mercy among other things, apparently. Aldenham school became our alma mater which means nourishing mother in Latin. Nil desperandum. English boarding school surrounded by trees and lakes and nature can be mothering...capsized a good number of boats in the school sailing club...we used to fence against your school down the road @sachabaroncohen local hero. A few years after you were at Habs. The BBC were filming a comedy tv show at our school the year I joined and my old friend James dared me to volunteer because he wanted to be an actor and have good company on this adventure. So I did. We ended up getting asked back to do work experience at Limehouse Studios in London and BBC North Acton rehearsal rooms. Grateful for some excellent (in my humble opinion) practical jokes I played on James. Good hearted, naturally. That one job lead to me being hired on many other productions when I left school at Pinewood Studios, Ealing Studios, Shepperton Studios, in the Westend with Warner Brothers, all with or from the members of that one first crew and production team. True story! Real friendships are mothering. Happy Mother’s Day, everyone! If it makes you happy, it can’t be that bad. I’ll stand by you, apparently. 🌱🌌🍀🧳🗺🌠💛🦋
